Teddy Mbiire.
Uganda. A country in which the unlimited, God-given potential of young children often goes completely untapped in the never-ending wake of poverty cycles. For many children, there is a continuous tension between choosing to attend school and working to help feed their families. Although a harsh reality to face, such circumstances seem to be God’s favorite place to plant seeds of hope.
One such seed of hope is Teddy Mbiire. Within a school system where her teacher would show up less than half of the time, she dreamt of becoming a true educator with the sole aim of giving those behind her a new narrative. After completing her education, something only about 50% of her peers would achieve, the world was finally opening for her. If the early stages of her life had been the valley, she had ascended the mountain.
So, you may wonder, what does one do when they reach the mountain peak? For Teddy Mbiire, it meant returning to the valley to lead future generations alongside her to even further heights. It meant giving back what she had received from God and multiplying it to the next generation. To achieve that, she founded Crested Crane Primary School, which soon flourished into an all-around Christ-centered establishment.
Before long, the school was filled with more children than it could hold, and this is where Edify had the great privilege of watering the seeds that God had planted with Teddy. Through teacher training, technology expansion, and loan capital to expand the school and create self-sustainable operations, more and more children were brought into an environment where they could finally dream.

Can you imagine living your entire life with closed doors all around you, and suddenly they all open, and you are free to go through all of them? Can you imagine being given permission to dream for the first time in your life?
